A thought on ‘Taare Zameen Par’

Taare Zameen ParStars are on the earth [in english]

Well, this happened to be the very first movie i watched in a theatre after 3 months of my stay in bahrain. Although i was not really interested in going to a theatre, somehow today i thought let me accompany my friends. But atlast, had a very great satisfaction that i had watched a life time movie. I am sure you also would feel the same :)

TaareZameenPar - Image

Taare Zameen Par – initially i din’t have enough to think of except the great personality Aamir Khan as he has been really rocking nowadays in the way he portrays his thoughts. Just to name a few movies to prove his worth are Lagaan, Rang De Basanti etc.

I got to know the entire story line after seeing the one line caption in the title itself which says “Every child is special:) . Totally could picturise and imagine the theme and was really astonished the way the scenarios were portrayed. It was produced and directed by Aamir Khan. The main hero in the story is an 8 year old school going kid “Darsheel Safary” who really rocked and took over the entire show in his control. Awesome performance and he definitely deserves to get a bunch of applauses. Man, in the whole movie he would have just spoken a few words. Rest everything he expressed in his facial expressions which are sure enough to fetch him some awards! Great going master.. That was a wonderful experience watching you in the screen.

TaareZameenPar-2

The movie starts off with an 8 year old boy who is marked as totally disobedient, disinterested towards reading and writing. You have enough fun when you visualize those situations as definitely every class has some sort of students. Though he has some special interests in painting it is left unnoticed when compared to all the mistakes. Because of all these he tends to become an introvert gradually and thats when he starts expressing all his feelings through just emotions. He does not even speak to his mom except a few places when he refuses to join the boarding school once his parents decide after hearing an “excellent” report from the teachers and principal of the school.  As usual, his elder brother is a very good exception who is studious and stands first in all subjects along with his extra-curricular activities as well. This adds fuel to the fire naturally as the way parents tend to compare their children when they grow up.

Even after joining the boarding school, the same history repeats and he feels as if he is tortured literally and he started hating the entire world including his burning desire for drawing. There you get a break through our supreme master, a much awaited character in the movie our dear Aamir who enters as a temporary drawing master. A different kinda approach he has towards the students as the way he freely allows the kids to think out of the box and enjoys being with them as a good mate by all means.

As you would have expected by now (if at all you could :) ) , he identifies this strange behavior and finds our the root cause and helps getting this little boy out of his difficulties after taking some pains in talking to their parents and colleagues. He also convinces the principal by saying the reason as the kinda disease “dyslexic” [a learning disability especially feeling difficult in identifying the alphabets] and also requesting him to offer only one chance as all that the little kid needs is a little more attention from the teachers. He tries out to bring out the kid’s potentials in all the possible ways.

TaareZameenPar-3

All his efforts come true and the boy is really identified of his hidden potentials as the result of the drawing competition conducted by Aamir for all the people in the school including faculties. The principal declares that he really got a chance to live his own childhood life again and also able to see other’s childhood as well. A way to thank Aamir khan he announces that Aamir khan will be working permanently in this school while continuing his tenure in the present school ['Tulip School' - for mentally retarded people]. He also declares that the prize winning drawing would be on the front page of the school year book. As expected, the prize goes to our little master. The boy initially feels a little shy and reluctant. His neighbours help the principal identifies Ishaan (the boy’s name in the movie) in the crowd.  Not having enough patience to relish the moments when he gets the prize, Ishaan immediately runts to Aamir and hugs him and cries. :) A masterpiece!

His parents come to school to take their kid for the vacation and they get to know about his talents and rewards. They feel very happy and overwhelmed as their worries are wiped off. They could see his son getting along with all the other children normally. The kid goes for a vacation along with his parents happily. The story ends there.

The noteworthy aspects of this movie are :

the overall theme

the little kid’s excellent acting

aamir khan’s character

all the songs

the way the kid’s creavity has been portrayed through which he intimates his separation from the family in his notebook that lets any1 get to know when they flip through the pages fastly – a kinda animation in which the younger son gradually gets away..

The boy’s entire family did well upto the mark. The songs were awesome and none of them seemed to be out of track. Every song had got a wonderful meaning and superb picturisation. In one song (last song), there is a line matching with the title, “Na Kho Jaayen Yeah Taare Zameen Par” [Let's not lose these stars to earth"] – were fetching tears from the eyes whilst making us realize the importance of the childhood and its values irrespective of little difficulties and variance in efficiencies. :)

I would like to reinsist the thought as, “this is the movie which every student, parent and teacher has to watch without any fail“, as it has got a nice message to each of them. Don’t miss it. Of course,  the grown up students and ex-teachers may get a chance to get their histories kindled. I got a chance to remember one of my mom’s students [named 'Thendral' if i am right] who taught me to write the number ‘8′ properly as the two circles i used to draw always fought with each other :P .

One interesting background information to share which i heard through my colleague in the interval is "There were many children for audition but finally the crew managed to select 25 kids in the first round of elimination and then they made it upto 10 people after second and final round when they handed it over to Aamir Khan. He asked them to call the all 25 kids and he himself did a separate test and finalized this kid" it seems.

Note: If interested, kindly read the “Director’s Note” on the official website of the movie : http://www.taarezameenpar.com/. I would say, it is worth spending a minute on reading this to get to know the history behind this movie and the contribution by the people (Amole Gupte - the Creative Director of the movie who wrote the script and his wife Deepa Bhatia).

Great efforts and Hats Off to the entire team behind the scenes. You rock Aamir! This movie would definitely help and inspire the parents and teachers. I am sure about it. No doubt, it is yet another feather to your crown :) . Best wishes to all your further endeavors too.

This happened to be my first ever review on a movie though my previous thoughts on some other movies dint get materialised. :) Of course, this deserves for a nice movie which is a result of 7 years of research on the childhood! ["The Director's Note" section from the official website of the movie].

dangerous ctrl+c

Here you have a shocking NEWS about CTRL+C.  It sounds like a “must read” for me. Hope the same with you too.

Ctrl+C may be the most important work we do everyday. But it’s not a very safe thing to do. Read on to know why.

What happens when you press Ctrl+C while you are Online…  We do copy various data by Ctrl + C for pasting elsewhere.

This copied data is stored in clipboard and is accessible from the net by a combination of Javascripts and ASP.

Just try this:

1) Copy any text by pressing Ctrl + C
2) Click the Link: http://www.sourcecodesworld.com/special/clipboard.asp
3) You will see the text you copied was accessed by this web page.

Do not keep sensitive data (like passwords, credit card numbers, PIN etc.) in the clipboard while surfing the web. It is extremely easy to extract the text stored in the clipboard to steal your sensitive information.

I believe this would save us from online frauds [without thinking much on the probability ratios] ! :)

utilities to recover the shift deleted files

All of a sudden you encounter a situation wherein you either knowingly or unknowingly but unfortunately happened to lose some of your files in the OS permanently. I could have better named it as ‘permanently deleted files’ rather than ’shift deleted files’. But just to match with the naive user’s search query, i have termed it as such! That’s how generally people may search for it.

Day before yesterday one of my buddies faced a scenario and was feeling bad that he had lost his 6 hours of work because of an accidental shift+delete by his colleague. Not to blame anyone but the situation, he had not have the back up of the files as well. Suddenly i remembered that a couple of years back one of my ex-colleagues had sent a mail about such software utility but it was mainly to recover the mails from Microsoft Outlook exchange doing something with Registry.

With the thought, i had mailed my buddies and asked for a solution if they had also faced this situation. A couple of good responses i have got. Just Listing them here. Hope it would be of some use to the people in need! It is mainly for Windows OS as my requirement was for that.

Prior to this mailing attempt, got suggested by my colleage about one utility called ‘GetDataBack’. What a beautiful name? :) You would never forget it! But as it was a shareware(!), i was able to just see the list of files got deleted but could not proceed further in retrieving the files as it was saying “copying of files is only allowed in premium edition” :)

NOTE: Please make use at your own risk. Kindly go through the notes/documentation given in the software/crack.

Here you go….

(i) Please try this link http://www.winundelete.com/?rid=google&kid=wu0801 for getting the deleted files.

(ii) http://www.safe-install.com/programs/fat-deleted-data-recovery.html
http://shift-del-deleted-recovery.safe-install.com/ [FAT system]

(iii) http://pcwin.com/Utilities/Windows_Partition_Data_Recovery_Software/index.htm

(iv) try the software ‘undelete’..definitely it helps..i have recovered many files using it myself..espicially .jpg and .txt files..my java code resides on repository..i hope he lost it before commit:)

well, windows xp with FAT? first he should change to NTFS..
btw, how did he delete it? using a tool like eclipse? or from explorer?

(v) http://www.sharewareconnection.com/titles/shift-del-deleted-recovery.htm
http://shift-del-deleted-recovery.qarchive.org/

(vi) I think i have used recovermyfiles.exe… i think its available in the net.. u can download and try..

(vii) http://www.quetek.com/prod02.htm?source=google15 [I got it through Google webclip when i was replying to this mail thread!]

(vii) Get data back , Data recovery [names of the software]

(viii) As i do not have a portable media, I am giving you the link from where it can be downloaded. Before installation disable Internet connection and Anti virus Programs because we use a Key gen to activate the software.

http://rapidshare.com/files/19990258/O_O_Dis.rar

This gives a success rate of 65% for all the files. This is not file recovery software. It recovers Entire partition. So make sure u select the appropriate file types you want to recover in order to speed up the process. It works well for all the types of windows file systems.

Please do share this with all the folks you know.

I thank all my  buddies who have responded in time! :)

completing 2 months here

Ouch.. as some one else (i think its Ponnarasi) told here, i think its time for a next blog! as its been sometime i posted! though i thought of some good title, but dint get any good one so left this as such!

As of now, completing 2 months here (Sep18-Oct18-Nov18) :) . Life as such in a good improvement phase. Only this week i would say i have been doing some little good work in the official front whereas till now have been doing some monotonous routine!

One good thing to mention is the Amnesty carried out in the office where i work (LMRA – Labour Market Regulatory  Authority)! Being the initiators of it, they do a real good job. Whoever is working under an illegal work permit or who don’t have a proper sponsor, they can just go and report to these people (LMRA) and they themselves help you to get back to your country with a free ticket! Its all for a good cause and to stabilize their statistics and work culture so that they will maintain a good track record of labours!

The website is a portal but still you can direclty get into the statistics here if you are interested! You would get the recently updated information.

The climate has come to the opposite extreme nowadays. Its not at all hot and it becomes pretty dark by 5 PM itself. I feel as if its around 8 or 9 PM :lol.

To those whom i missed to update, i have started writing a story in this month. Its called ‘Kanaa Kaanum Kaalangal’ and obviously in my mother tongue ‘Tamil’.

The impact on this is the official working hours has been extended till 9 PM for the LMRA staff which was previously till 2 PM only. Though those people work on shifts, we don’t! Moreover doing a production deployment on a weekly basis have to slog till 11 PM :) Anyways, its a part of life!

As such, these are the information.. Rest in next…

Chalo..  C u all l8r….

diwali in bahrain

Well, for the first time happen to celebrate ‘Diwali’ at abroad (in Bahrain). I would say it was as the way anyone would expect without any real celebrations.

Though many of my friends were asking about the availability of crackers here, was unable to answer them by then. Later came to know that here its kinda banned. Happened to hear from some of my TCS colleagues who are here for a couple of years that you can’t fire the crackers outside (public)!

Then i have got 2 questions..

(1) Then what’s the point of making it avaiable?

(2) If not outside means, should we have it inside the home or what?

But i have not seen any crackers being sold here! Crackers apart, no other symptoms as well. Basically being a Muslim country would be a predominant factor!

From my own end, happened to rush in the last minute (yesterday) evening to a mall here (Jeant) with one of my colleagues and managed to get a shirt and pant from Scullers and one shirt from Indigo Nation which i blindly liked! :)

As suggested by one of my colleagues (Rajasekar M) to prepare keasari (sweet rava, can i call it in english?) had to buy so many ingredients except the ghee and sugar! As was not in a mood to cook, went outside to a hotel (Kushboo Idli Kadai:)) and finished my dinner! On the way to the nearby grocery mall, saw another shop having good t-shirt collections. Went inside and purchased 4 T-shirts too :)

Since the t-shirt selection process swallowed ample time, had been running here and there to get the ingredients in the mall as they were about to close!! Except the Kesari Powder (Saffron powder), got everything! My roomies were pulling my legs and asking whether am in a full festival mood or not. Perhaps i had been i guess! :P Admitted the fact.

Got up early in the morning (not just because of diwali but regular lunch preparation + today’s diwali spl keasari) and managed to do all. Somehow the keasari came well (thank god! it was my maiden effort) except a little more sugar could have helped it to be too tasty! But it was definitely ‘eatable’ not just ‘touchable’ :) Distributed to all my colleagues also here!

One good thing is that today bcos of diwali, the cell phone service providers gave some extra amount of talk time in the calling cards which was about 4 minutes surplus than that of regular. (today 26 minutes per 1 BD calling card). Though i was wondering in the morning soon after i heard about the increased talktime, dint care to bother much. In the evening, an sms confirmed the same!

One bad thing was that the lines to India were almostttt busy and had beeeeeennnn trying since morning for so long to get the line connected! :( .

Apart from that, no difference from the regular working day here! :)

One funny part was in my orkut profile today it was showing, “Today’s fortune: you are going to have some new clothes!”. Lol :)

Hope all of you had a very good diwali celebrations…

Happy Diwali
